2012 Lemons Thunderhill

This past weekend saw another weekend of hot racing action in the lemons series. Here is the video evidence. This being our second event in the series we knew that there would be a lot of competition. While our barely prepared 325i is by no means a "fast" car in the series it was still fun dicing it up with other cars. Traffic helps a lot to stay with the faster cars, a lot of times I would make a pass because the faster car was help up by traffic, and as soon as the pass was successful, a yellow flag was flown. Such luck won't hold up after 14 or 24hrs of racing but still fun while I'm at it.

iRacing.com

The best racing simulation ever.

Thought Grand Torisumo represented a simulation? False.
Things a real simulator ought to have:
1. driving inputs representing a real race car (force feedback wheel on par and even better than GT5, brakes that require you to threshold brake, computability with the excellent Logitect G25 with gated shifter and clutch pedal!)

2. competition, I have been on iRacing.com for about 4 months and there continues to be drivers who impress me. Online competition

3. sanctioning, why is this important? simulation means actions have consequences, the safety rating and Classing system means that contact is di

Next post, where iRacing leaves room for improvement. Ok, gonna jump into a Spec Racer Ford now.

Axis Of Oversteer: GT2 Monster

Axis Of Oversteer: GT2 Monster

I love this blog to death but the video was completely weak sauce. That GT2 is a god of cars yet the video just shows it on a highway! with traffic!?! and no WOT even at standstill?

Come on.

AC, I know you guys are excited about the car(id be out of my gourd) but please don't let the quality of the content go down.

Thanks,

Last NASA TT event at Thunderhill was reverse and in the wet. These two factors combined made for some interesting footage.

Preparing for the old world

Well specifically Germany and the land surrounding the Rhine river. But really this is one big excuse to drive the Nurbugring.

Rough itinerary.
7.8 Leave the west coast.
7.9 arrive in Munich, try to get over jetlag
7.10 pick up Jake's euro delivery 335i at the BMW factory, break it in on the autobahn like god intended.
7.11 take driving tour around swiss alps, end up near black forest region
7.12 drive to nurburgring, tour F1 track/ BMW museum, basically kill time before hitting the Ring for the first time
7.13 driving day #2, kill time before driving again :)
7.14 renting a 325i from rent-racecar.de final and longest day on the Ring

NASA Thunderhill Time Trial Record

Fast lap of the weekend at thunderhill. Conditions were ideal, dry track and 2nd morning session with temperature still fairly cool.
